Setting up an eSIM on your Samsung Galaxy phone takes just a few minutes. Whether you’re preparing for a holiday or adding a second data line, this guide covers every step from scanning the QR code to connecting at your destination.

Before You Start — What You Need

✅ An eSIM-compatible Samsung — Galaxy S20 or later, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip series, Galaxy Note 20 or later
✅ An unlocked phone — your Samsung must not be locked to a single carrier
✅ A Wi-Fi connection — you need internet to download the eSIM profile
✅ Your QR code — sent to your email after purchasing from Go Simly
✅ Android 10 or later — go to Settings → About Phone → Software Information to check

Step-by-Step: Install Your eSIM on Samsung Galaxy

Step 1: Open Settings

Open the Settings app on your Samsung. Tap Connections, then tap SIM Manager (on newer models) or SIM Card Manager.

Step 2: Add eSIM

Tap Add eSIM or Add Mobile Plan. If you don’t see this option, your phone may be carrier-locked or may not support eSIM.

Step 3: Scan QR Code

Tap Scan carrier QR code. Your camera will open. Point it at the QR code from your Go Simly email. If using one device, screenshot the QR code first, then use the Scan from image option.

Step 4: Download & Confirm

Your Samsung will show the carrier details. Tap Add or Confirm to download the eSIM profile. This takes a few seconds over Wi-Fi.

Step 5: Enable the eSIM

Once installed, go back to SIM Manager. You’ll see your new eSIM listed. Make sure it’s toggled ON. Tap it and set it as your Mobile Data line.

Step 6: Enable Data Roaming

Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks. Select your Go Simly eSIM and toggle on Data Roaming. Without this, the eSIM won’t connect abroad.

Step 7: You’re Ready

Your eSIM is installed and ready. When you arrive at your destination, your Samsung will connect to the local network automatically. Keep your primary SIM active for calls and texts.

Troubleshooting — Common Issues

“Add eSIM” option doesn’t appear
Your Samsung may be carrier-locked or running an older software version. Check for software updates at Settings → Software Update. If the option still doesn’t appear, contact your carrier to request an unlock.

QR code won’t scan
Make sure your screen brightness is turned up and the QR code image is clear. Try zooming in on the QR code. If scanning from another screen, avoid glare. You can also try the “Enter code manually” option if your Go Simly email includes an activation code.

eSIM installed but no data connection
Check these three things: (1) Data Roaming is ON for the eSIM, (2) the eSIM is set as your Mobile Data line in SIM Manager, (3) the eSIM line is toggled ON. Try restarting your phone. If the issue continues, manually select a network at Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Operators.
